The Uttar Pradesh Board of Madarsa Education (UPBME) conducts examinations at various levels. The eligibility typically depends on the course level:

• Munshi – Equivalent to secondary level (Persian subject)

• Maulvi – Equivalent to secondary level (Arabic subject)

• Alim – Equivalent to higher secondary level

• Kamil – Equivalent to graduation level
